Auction Rules

For the Seller

  1. ALL SALES ARE FINAL! NO EXCEPTIONS!
  2. All persons wishing to Sell items must get a Bidder / Seller Number.
  3. Bayside RC Club charges $5 or 10% of the selling price, whichever is greater as a fee. Items selling for $5 or less will be considered a donation to Bayside and nothing will be due the seller.
  4. Once your items are registered, they MUST BE AUCTIONED.
  5. The seller is entitled to one bid to protect the value of his/her item. If your bid is the highest bid for your item, you have bought back your item and only a $5 presentation fee will be charged for having the item run through the auction.
  6. It is the seller’s responsibility to make their one bid heard by the auctioneer.
  7. The auctioneer will say “Going Once, Going Twice, SOLD!” When he says “SOLD”, the item is gone and no further bids will be accepted. So, pay attention when your item is up for sale.
  8. The seller will not be paid until the buyer has paid the club. If you choose to leave early, fill out a mailing envelope with your address and your money will be mailed to you at a fee of $1.00.
  9. An attempt will be made to auction items in order that items were received at check in.
  10. OUTSIDE SALES WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!

Seller Check-in Procedure

  1. The first step on the day of the event, you must check in at the registration desk to get your buyer/seller number.
  2. After registration, you can carry your items individually to the check-in tables where a worker will enter your item into the system. A number will be assigned and a sticker will be applied to your item and it will go to the display tables.
  3. Our computerized system works great but if it makes you more comfortable, we suggest you make a list of your items and their numbers so you can keep track of them.

For the Buyer

  1. You must register and receive a numbered bidder card. This identifies you during the course of the auction.
  2. If you leave, don’t give anyone your Bidder / Seller number.
  3. Inspect all items you may be interested in PRIOR to start of the auction.
  4. Display area will be closed, during the auctioning periods.
  5. The auctioneer will attempt to describe each item as it comes up for sale to the best of his ability. Descriptive errors are unintentional, but often made.
    • DO NOT BID ON ANY ITEM THAT YOU ARE NOT SURE OF OR THAT YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO TAKE A CHANCE ON!!!
  6. All sales are final, no exceptions. No item sold has any sort of guarantee or warranty! They are sold “AS IS”!
  7. Local sales tax will be charged on each sale.
  8. There are no refunds. No statement made during the course of the auction, by the auctioneer or any auction staff member, as to the condition or desirability will alter this rule.
  9. Keep in mind that sellers can’t be paid until you have paid for any items you won the bid for. So, we may be asking you to settle up at the cashier table. Once paid for, and with your buyer/seller card in hand, you can claim your item at the impound area.
  10. Failure to pay for any item on which you are high bidder will preclude you from participating in any future Bayside RC Club Auction.
  11. Any item damaged in the display area will be purchased by the person responsible for the damage.
